Great Plains US Payroll Tax Update Service Notes

For customers on older versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Great Plains Dynamics and eEnteprise, in the case when you are processing Payroll internally (including W2 printout and mailing to your employees) - we would like to let you know that it is possible to update Federal, State and Local Taxes directly in Dynamics GP Payroll tables.  We traditionally offer this service at the end of the calendar year, or in January at your convenience.

Please, read this small publication for technical Payroll tables update information and see our previous paper in open press:
1. Dynamics GP versions, supported for US and Canadian Payroll tax update: these are at this time (January 2010) version 10.0 and 9.0.  When Microsoft Dynamics GP 11.0 will be released (somewhere in May of 2010), we expect that version 9.0 support expiration time will be announced.  If you are on Dynamics GP 10.0 or 9.0 - feel free to contact your Microsoft Dynamics GP Partner (VAR, reseller or consultant) or call our office.  Tax Update is available from Customer Source.  This update follows all new tax update rule, including changing formulae (Missouri)
2. Microsoft Dynamics GP versions, no longer supported directly by Microsoft Business Solutions tax update: Dynamics GP 8.0 and 7.5, Microsoft Great Plains 7.0, Great Plains Dynamics and eEnteprise 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0.  If your old version is on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or 7 - US Payroll tax update could be done (with some exceptions, such as in Missouri, see paragraph above) directly via SQL scripts.
3. Old Great Plains Dynamics on Pervasive SQL 2000 and Ctree US Payroll Tax update.  In your case we do it via Microsoft Access connection to Pervasive SQL or Ctree tables (Access Linked Tables approach).  Usually it takes more time, comparing to the Great Plains customers on MS SQL Server.  You might be on Great Plains versions: 7.5, 7.0, 6.0, 5.5, 5.0, 4.0, 3.2
4. US Payroll in archaic Great Plains versions, such as Great Plains Accounting for DOS, Windows or Mac.  Surprisingly enough, but there are still customers out there, who are running US Payroll in GPA for Windows or DOS: 9.5, 9.2, and earlier versions.  In their case, likely that they operate within one or two states only and they modify Payroll taxes manually every yearArticle Search, following local legislation changes
