When it comes to drawing,How to draw a cartoon character Articles there are no boundaries and restrictions literally; all you have to do is to follow your imagination and let your imagination flow in the picture. You can draw a proper cartoon character if you have basic know-how about art and colors. You can use two approaches to your drawing one is known as stick and another one is ovals.

Adding on elements in the cartoon character is the basic part of the game, but this game begins when the person has done with the sketch. So, to start off you may have to imagine your cartoon or the hero and then take the pencil and draw a rough sketch on the paper. You may draw his head, torso, body, and face in any form you want; you can draw body in different oval sizes. After this, make up a border or light outline on the cartoon, you must outline the features of the cartoon to distinguishing each part from another such as nose, lips, torso, feet, face, ears, eyes, mouth, and fingers.

When you have done with it, you should go for shading; use the pencil shading to make the impression of the cartoon, you can do it pretty well by focusing on the eyes and mouth area of the cartoon. If you are sketching a funny cartoon, you may draw eyes of different shapes they could be rectangular, oval, square, or just like a ball whatever makes you feel comfortable. You must also concentrate on the retina of the cartoon, on this part you may make your character look real; for instance within the eye circuit draw a small ball and give a small space in the right corner of the ball and fill the rest of ball with shade, follow the same rule while drawing second eye of the cartoon. When you do so, your cartoon eyes’ look more real and lively.

When you are done with outline, face features, and drawing of the elements; next thing you need to do is to add colors. You must use color very properly as it will change the outlook of your cartoon completely. In hair area, give some streaks of brown with the black or use any good combination, in the eyes portion you can use any color but it must be very dark while in the face you will mostly be using skin color unless your are drawing an animated character. You can fill tongue with pink color, teeth with white, and lips with pink or red color (you may use black for sure if you are drawing a witch or devil). When you have filled the color in the character try to smudge it with your thumb, doing so will blend all the colors and make your cartoon character look beautiful.
