Using a tape backup is not very dependable when saving precious data. Even the slightest bit of debris on the tape can break them so they need continuous checking to make sure they are usable. Imagine loosing all of the essential data that you have spent your time to back up only for it to get broken.


There are so umpteen ways for you to backup your information securely rather then using tape backups. Its not uncommon for your tape backups to record blank. If your primary method of saving data is a tape backup then it's important you make sure that the tape has actually been recording. It's essential to make sure your equipment is kept clean as corrupt tapes can cause umpteen problems. And if you have been doing consistent checkups then you might be in for a very nasty shock.


Using a tape backup is not one of the best ways to save info, so I would suggest that you look for some other options. There are lots of ways you can save your data, for example, flash drives, on-line backup or external disc drives. There is no reason that you should use any type of tape backup when there are numerous more up-to-date ways to save your invaluable information.


It is not very nice to find that your backup system have not actually saved all your files and folders, even though you religiously saved them for future use.
