It begins to shut down until receiving the response from the remote server. In order to speed up shutdown, you can set the automatically end the task. First, find HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop, set the keys of AutoEndTasks to 1; there is an item "HungAppTimeout" under its branch. set WaitToKillServiceTimeout to "4000"; After setting up these, the startup will be sped up a lot.

2. Speed up bootup:

In order to speed up Windows XP bootup, you can modify the registry to achieve the purpose. In the Registry Editor, locate the

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlSession ManagerMemory ManagementPrefetchParameters, find EnablePrefetcher primary key on the right and change its default value

3 to 1, thus the rolling time of the scroll bar will be reduced.

3. Automatically shut down the programs that stop responding:

Sometimes, XP prompts you that a certain program stops responding. It is boring. We can leave it off by modifying the registry. In HKEY_CURRENT_USERControl PanelDesktop, change the data value of AutoEndTasks to 1. Restart your computer. It is ok.
