Probably the biggest department in any company which needs to be running the most effectively is the HR (Human Resources) one. Because of its role within any business the HR department compared to a number of years ago has become somewhat complex and in order to run smoothly it needs a good computer system to store all the information and data they have. Therefore any company with a HR department should be looking to get them a good quality HR software database system in place.

Initially when HR tasks where being automated all the information was to be stored on main frame computers because these were the only ones that could handle the high amounts of data flowing through the system. But the reason many companies did not choose to utilize such systems was because of the cost as they would also need to employ a huge team of IT professionals in order to ensure the system run effectively.

But with the invention of client server HR management systems this then meant rather than the IT team running it the head of the HR department could instead. The systems were developed in order to carry out the four main functions of HR efficiently and are as follows:-

1. Looking after all issues relating to Payroll 2. Management of both time and labor of the employees within the company 3. Looking after all aspects of the benefits that the employees were entitled to 4. All HR management issues

Today there are a number of different database software tools devised by companies which make the whole process of managing various issues relating to employees within a business easier to do. One such company that has developed and now released such a software tool is DoubleStar.

The software tool is known as Workforce Information Factory (WIF) and will allow the user to collect various HR information for a number of different sources before putting it all into one common format. As with many products now available to do this WIF allows the user to customize it to suit their own particular requirements for each employee that the business has.

Once the information has been obtained then it can be synthesized and the information that is considered to be important delivered to those that have been deemed appropriate to have such information placed before them. For managers and team leaders this is ideal as they can then use the information gathered for helping to set objectives for their staff as well as manage and monitor how they are performing with each task they are given. Plus it provides them with a chance to look at ways in which they may be able to improve a particular person's performance also.

So as you can see from above a HR software database is much more than a place where information can be stored it also provides a reference point for ways in which a business can improve its overall productivity levels also.
