1.       SAP Business One Data Transfer Workbench.  This tool is typically used by your SAP Business One implementation consultants, who are formatting your test and final export from legacy accounting: GL accounts, beginning balances, customers, vendors, open AP and AR transactions, inventory items and pricelists in text CSV format, based on DTW Excel templates.  Then, Data Transfer Workbench imports or in essence finishes initial SAP Business One data conversion job.  In order to place DTW to do ongoing SBO data integration, you should review ODBC data connection option.  In the case of ODBC connector you should create SQL views to provide data selection in the format, similar to the one in Excel Templates for the targeted object

 

2.       SAP Business One SDK integration.   If you are comfortable in undertaking custom programming route, consider SB1 SDK customization or your unique integration add-on coding.  In order to do SAP Business One SDK programming, you should sign with SAP B1 Reseller, who carries SAP Business One SDK certified programmers.  This SAP Business One ISV selection should give you reasonable guarantee on the Quality Assurance and should let you to avoid learning curve scenarios.  SAP Business One SDK exposed majority of SAP Business One objects to .Net developer, it allows you to create custom integration application, which could be called in real time, or placed in the scheduling call

 

3.       Some warnings.  If you are coming from Unix, Linux and Oracle world, with strong SQL background, please be advised that such modern generation ERP and MRP application as SAP Business One in essence discourage you from exercising direct SQL insert.  In fact SAP Business One Early Watch will catch this event and report on it.  Please, reconsider DTW or SDK, or even look for SAP Business One third party integration add-ons and platforms
