Having been reasonably surprised by the baby Lenovo ThinkPad X 100e, it’s the turn of its larger, Lenovo ThinkPad edge 13 to hit the slash gear test bench. As with the X 100e, the egged 13 turns to trade some of Lenovo traditional styling in favour of a cheaper price and the probability of a few more sales of the mainstream consumer.

System overview and design:
To be real fair,LENOVO THINKPAD EGDE 13 Articles while Lenovo are pushing their high gloss black or red lid colours, you can also get the ThinkPad egged 13 in traditional matte black. The notebook still has more number of a consumer style approach than the ThinkPad line, although build or the developed quality is still high. there’s little flex in either the lid or base, and the whole thing measures in a good or decent 1.2 inches thick; that dimensions doesn’t make the laptop slimmest and the ultraportable around. while the edge 13 line prices at $579 with the processor of AMD Athlon neo X31.5 GHz dual _core CPU, our review model steps up to Intel core 2 duo SU&#)) 1.3 GHz from their culv range . That’s paired with 4 GB of DDR3 memory and a2GB 7200rpm hard drive, along with Intel game 4500MHD graphics, wifi and Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR. The 13.3 inch display runs at 1366*768 and floats in the midst of a reasonably chunky bezel with low light capable webcam on top. Unfortunately it has got a glossy finish, rather than the x 100e’s matte coating.
Performance and benchmark:
A culv note book will always beam choice of mobile longevity over performance, but the think pad edge 13 manages itself to impress. We ran it through geek bench, a test of the processor and the performance of the memory scores around the 2086 points which is good. That’s a little less than double the X 100e’s score and more than twice what an Atom N$%) processor can manage. For the use of daily purpose, the edge 13 is swift and fast enough to process or handle the reasonable multi tasks. It’s capable of playing the YouTube HD videos smoothly.
Battery life:
Lenovo has rated their standard battery as good for up to eight hours runtime. In general use, browsing the internet over Wi-Fi and occasionally playing audio, the edge 13 managed just less than seven hours, while solidly playing video cut that down to a little over five, though we didn’t find it made a vast difference to eventually runtimes.
