Corporate ERP implementation may look pretty challenging, especially in advanced logistics, supply chain management, barcode automation requirements. If you are mid-size business with discrete manufacturing or light assembly, your Warehouse Management System implementation may require custom additions to existing WMS modules for Great Plains.

Customizations and integrations could be programmed in Microsoft Dexterity,Microsoft Dynamics GP Los Angeles Partner: Distribution, Barcoding, SCM support Articles eConnect, SQL Stored Procedures, Extender or in .Net web application.  GP Integration Manager might be useful, but it also typically requires advanced ODBC integration with integration logic alteration via event driven VBA scripts.  You may not expect each Microsoft Dynamics GP reseller to have advanced technology expertise, so VAR selection is important to secure successful GP deployment.  In this small publication we are reviewing WMS system for Dynamics GP:
1. Standard Warehouse Management module logic.  Our WMS works with Barcode scanners in Purchase Receipts, Inventory Cycle Counts, Sales Order Fulfillments.  System is working directly with Great Plains objects: SOP Sales Order, POP Purchase Receipt, Inventory Item (it supports barcode scanning for Lot Numbers), Inventory Cycle Count transaction - this means for you that you do not need to implement additional step - WMS integration - it is already there
2. Advanced Logic.  Some Supply Chain Management routines are also supported, including smart trucks loading and routing (consignment, preferred delivery dates, mileage minimization)
3. User Interface.  Here we are talking about Barcode scanner screen.  System does one step at the time and walk the user through logical steps in barcoding routines
4. WMS and eCommerce modules interoperability.  If your company is mid-size ecommerce reseller, we suggest you to deploy our eCommerce extension with Order Fulfillment via WMS
5. Possible modifications.  We are not forcing WMS and ecommerce modules to be sold "as is".  We respect uniqueness of each business and ready to tune the logic to fix custom business requirements
6. Local presence, nationwide and international support.  Support is available in Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County, CA, as well as in Houston, Chicago metros.  WMS and ecommerce projects for mid-size companies often require Dynamics GP consultant dedication, so we understand the needs for USA, Canada and international travel for system implementation
7. Dynamics GP WMS and international specific.  If you have headquarters in USA, or Canada, please be aware that deploying GP for your international subsidiary should be thought through.  GP is localized for US, Canada, UK, Mexico and most of Spanish speaking Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania, South Africa, plus reasonable support is available in Arabic.  GP is not localized for such countries and regions as Brazil, China, Russia, Continental Europe (excluding old Great Plains versions).  If GP is not available in your targeted country, please consider different Small Business ERP platform, SAP Business One, for example, where you have reasonable set of WMS and eCommerce automation add-ons.  And SB1 could be integrated on GL transactions or FRx Financial Statements level with your Corporate ERP Dynamics GP
