Dynamics GP is definitely good fit for mid-size businesses in broad spectrum of industries and it is open to custom programming and probably you can find your add-on from Dynamics GP ISV partners. Regarding Michigan,

1. Dynamics GP software licensing model. Currently Microsoft Business Solutions offers Business Ready Advanced Management or Business Essential. We recommend you to engage Dynamics GP Gold Certified Partner in the Sales Cycle, as you need to come through various steps, requiring Dynamics GP consultant help. Advanced Management is typically for larger businesses with Manufacturing, Field Service, and Business Essential is for entry level smaller organizations
2. Michigan specifics. We would like to stress these: Small Manufacturing, Warehouse Management, Distribution, Farmers Cooperatives, Government Contractors (Military, Aerospace, Automobile including military trucks), Auto makers, including their international affiliations and branches in Mexico, Brazil, China, Germany, Russia. Microsoft Dynamics GP has broad selection of modules: Manufacturing suite (for mid-size manufacturing mills), Bill of Materials (for smaller discrete manufacturers).
3. Barcoding and Warehouse Management. We are coming to Michigan with strong emphasis on Barcoding, Supply Chain Management, WMS, Picking and Packing, Transportation and Logistics
