When making a slideshow to celebrate an event, vacation, or someone’s life, working chronologically is usually the best. For a graduation, birthday, or memorial service where the focus is on one person, try ordering the pictures from oldest to newest. Start with some cute pictures of the subject as a child, then work your way through their life. They will grow up before your eyes!

Try to tell a story. Act like a journalist and investigate until you get the all juicy details. Don’t forget to check historically, too. Maybe a little online digging will turn up that a hundred years before the day Susie was born, her favorite author published his first book. Tie it in with pictures, text, and especially music. Show headlines from the year she was born, put up pictures of popular movies, and play the #1 hit song of the year.
