DVD Photo Slideshows,Photo Slideshow Software Review - Make Quality Slideshows with your Pictures Articles and How to Make Them Great With the digital cameras available today, and the massive amount of storage possible, even a quick day trip can quickly get you snapping hundreds of photos. You could print them all out, push them into scrapbooks and set them on the shelf to get dusty and faded. You could ignore them. You could do almost anything with them. How about making a slideshow?

There are lots of reasons to make a slideshow. Christmas letters get a lot more exciting when you include a slideshow of the highlights of your year. Retirement parties, graduations, anniversaries and anything else that signifies a change in someone’s life are made that much more poignant with slideshows. Not only that, but with a slideshow and with the current slideshow technology, you can easily burn it to a DVD and have an inexpensive but meaningful gift for your guests.

The first order of business is to choose which photos you will use. Of the 1,110,032 photos you took, it’s likely that some will be overexposed, too dark, blurry, or just plain ugly. Try not to get too trigger-happy with the delete button—it’s too easy to delete a great photo—but if you are running out of storage space, feel free to let the pictures where all you can see is your finger go. Look for unique pictures, with different angles, subjects and moods. After all, who wants to see a slideshow of people standing in front of national monuments with fake smiles plastered on?

Now that you have a group of pictures to work with, think about how you’ll organize them. Two main ways are thematically and chronologically. Thematic organizations work well for showing off your photography. Place your serious pictures together with appropriate music, then transition to a happier group of photos with lighter music to add to the effect.

When making a slideshow to celebrate an event, vacation, or someone’s life, working chronologically is usually the best. For a graduation, birthday, or memorial service where the focus is on one person, try ordering the pictures from oldest to newest. Start with some cute pictures of the subject as a child, then work your way through their life. They will grow up before your eyes!

Try to tell a story. Act like a journalist and investigate until you get the all juicy details. Don’t forget to check historically, too. Maybe a little online digging will turn up that a hundred years before the day Susie was born, her favorite author published his first book. Tie it in with pictures, text, and especially music. Show headlines from the year she was born, put up pictures of popular movies, and play the #1 hit song of the year.

Above all, be creative and have fun. If you are doing a slideshow of someone you all love, no one will worry about the how well the slideshow was put together. Enjoy creating memories!
