Typically manufacturing ERP logic you can find in upscale accounting packages,SAP Business One Production implementation notes Articles not really targeted to small businesses, SAB BO is surprising exception from this rule:

1.       Production Order Types.  Standard, Special and Disassembly types are available.  Yes, you heard this right – disassembly is an option.  This is useful when you are getting back manufactured products in returns and have to disassemble them into parts to place back on the warehouse shelves.  Disassembly was long time known issue with other ERPs, where it was not typically supported in standard (meaning not customized) configuration.

2.       Small Business Manufacturing.  In essence this is what it is.  You can use Production module as light assembly and not as heavy weight manufacturing, which typically requires extensive manufacturing data entry by MRP users

3.       MRP wizard.  If you would like to have reasonable elements of Manufacturing Resource Planning with connection to Sales Forecasts and Purchasing components lead time, please try it on the wizard level

4.       Forecasts.  Here you can prepare your company to high sales for manufactured products during special event and promotions

5.       Additional SB1 cool features.  We would like to present you such data analyzing and mining features as drag and relate.  You can simply drag item number and relate it to AR invoices to see comprehensive report on all the invoices and returns, where this item was involved
