As we rely more and more on wireless technology,Security Firms enables Access to Corporate Files via Smartphone Articles companies have had to change their method of working to keep abreast of the dynamic technology.A real estate firm has recently deployed Remote Access  to enable employees to access to its corporate network and applications by using their own smartphones. The companys helpdesk have gone through a series of research using a virtual smartphone platform to provide corporate and personal Research in Motion (RIM) on iPhone and Blackberry devices without using separate consoles for the management of each device.Companies have now realized and are accepting that the use of personal devices such as smartphones is becoming popular at work.To enable Remote Control Software, employees synchronize their devices with their corporate email accounts and popular Microsoft applications like SharePoint. To be ahead of the game, this real estate firm deployed the software to over 60 employees with iPhone and Blackberry.Persons using iPads were not excluded. This innovative move has increased the job satisfaction of the employees and are now motivated and encouraged to work outside of the regular working hours. The experience gained from using the software is similar to that of the Blackberry Enterprise Server. It must be noted however, that access to corporate data must be validated through some security measures as this would leave sensitive data open to theft. Therefore encryption of data is a critical feature of this software, both over the airwaves and on the device itself.Other features include data, text, voice, active directory integration, remote lock and wipe, and application support. One cool feature of the virtual smartphone software is the ability to locate a stolen device and deleting the data rapidly. The IT department of this real estate firm has developed additional software to control policies enabled to prohibit employees without added security permissions to access certain areas of the corporate data.In other words, an employee may only access corporate data based on his or her job function.Employees will never get their personal emails mixed up with corporate emails as emails are delivered via an email client.Regular back-ups are also done and in the event that something should go wrong, the software is able to default to factory settings without interfering with the employees personal data. The company is also looking at using Android devices but is unwavering in its decision as apps can be easily affected with a virus. This represents too much of a risk because of the nature of the data and the size of it.This Remote Desktop Software initiative came about when some employees were stuck in Europe because of the volcanic eruption in 2010.FortunatelyScience Articles, employees found Internet cafes and were able to log in securely and successfully to the companys site; like it was just another day at the office.
