There was a widespread story about a 15 year old Canadian 10th grader,USB Keylogger Now Becoming More Present In Every Home or Office Articles Amanda Todd, who committed suicide on October 12th 2012. Amanda had been a victim of a cyber predator whom she met on webcam. The predator typically manipulated her to send him her nude pictures. One year later the man began to torment her. He would post her messages on facebook, threatening to expose her naked photos to her family, friends and school if he does not do his biddings. The man later made good his threats when he spread her photos around. Then Amanda’s nightmare began. She couldn’t take the taunting she received in her school and neighborhood. She got anxiety, depression and panic disorder. Her case grew worse when her predator created a facebook page and used Amanda’s breast’s photos as his profile picture.  She cried every night as she lost all her friends and respect. She took to drugs and alcohol which only quickened her journey to a tragic end – suicide!

What if there had been a device such as the USB keylogger installed in her computer which could track her online activities. Maybe the story would have been different. More parents and managers are increasingly becoming aware of the need to make sure that everyone around them is in line, and not getting into trouble with predators or becoming victims of child pornography or cutting corners at the work place.

A USB keyloggerconnects to one’s keyboard via USB, as well as the computer’s USB port at the back of the system. It does not require any software or drivers to work. While some other tracking devices might be limited in operating system compatibility, any Windows, Mac or Linux-based PC will do for this one. Its major function is to capture the keystrokes being performed on the computer, and with a lower threshold of 2MB capacity, is guaranteed to record two million keystrokes. It can be completely invisible to the computer user and can be downloaded in another computer. It does not get detected by security scanners thus keeping the subject completely unaware of its existence.

A rocket scientist is not required for the installation of this USB device. Since it requires no software or drivers, even the uneducated parent or employer can easily make good use of it. With its ability to capture email, instant messaging, websites and even chatroom activities, a child’s web activities can be effectively monitored. Also administrators at work can always retrieve lost passwords, back up sensitive data and monitor the activities of their staff.
