Computer are such a big part of our lives, from banking, to shopping and communications, that a normal day consists of several computers working together in one large necessary network to make the world more compatible and meshed into a world wide blanket. Regardless how you view this as good or bad, one thing everyone will agree on, is the necessity of protecting the computer.

Good active up to date computer security, should start with the owner or user of the computer. These powerful and time saving machines are sponges that soak up and hold valuable and sensitive information about everything imaginable. All your personal sensitive info is out there in cyber land in the files of doctors, banks, insurance companies and credit card companies. With the millions of computers having access to your information, security just isn't an option, it is a necessity.

This type of personal information in the wrong hands can cause damage that you might not never recover from. Legitimate companies and businesses have good security systems in place for your protection. However, don't leave your home or office front door open to anyone who surfs into your turf. The safety and security of these places are just as important as the major on line businesses. Never connecting to the Internet is the only sure fire way to keep your computer 100% safe.

Do not connect to the internet and do any sort of business or personal business on it. Do everything the old fashioned way and keep anything that you don't want to get out into the world off of your computer. This is probably an unrealistic thing for most people seeing as most people are already wrapped up in doing business online. So what you have to do is protect the information that you already have out there. Install a security program that will help filter out unwanted and dangerous communications and will block harmful sites.
