On buses,WHAT TYPES OF ID BADGES CAN BE ISSUED? Articles the tube and even on the street it is increasingly common to see men and women wearing ID badges, especially early in the morning and in the first hours of the evening when everybody is moving to and from work. Publicly displaying ID cards has become part of our corporate uniform; so much so that there is a whole industry around these identification devices: lanyards and other types of card holders help us customize our ID card so that we feel it is tailored suit for us.

ID badges started being widely used in corporate environments after the terrible events of September 2001, after which business organizations of all sizes and fields became aware of the fact that it was of utmost importance for them to provide their staff members with a secure working environment. Thus, business owners and managers soon realized that those plastic or PVC cards enabled them to efficiently identify their different employees and also distinguish them from visitors, guests and strangers.

However, even though employee ID badges are the ones we are most acquainted with, these practical and convenient identification devices can be used in many other everyday situations and contexts.

For instance, it is very common to be given a laminated ID badge in seminars and events, and not only if you are the lecturer. Organizers have realized that these kinds of events are great places for socialization and networking and a great way of enhancing this is by making it easy for everybody to know who they are talking to. These ID cards can be quite simple and only include the name of the speaker or attendee and the company where he or she belongs.

Schools, colleges and other educational facilities are also starting to provide ID badges to their students and staff members. It is a great and effective measure to prevent intruders from trespassing into the premises and it also helps the school staff to keep track of the students and employees attendance, punctuality, sanctions and whereabouts.

Other type of ID badge is the one that nurses and doctors wear at hospitals. They are in general more sophisticated as they come with advanced security features that enable hospital managers to establish different clearance levels so that only authorized personnel has access to restricted areas such as the Intensive Care Unit or the pharmacy.

As it can be appreciated, ID badges have multiple uses and not only in corporate environments.
