With so many people working on laptop computers these days, it is amazing that everyone isn’t using one or more Windows backup programs to go along with them. The truth is that the average lifespan of a laptop is less than two years, and it is very likely that you will suffer from element of data loss during that time.

Of course,Why a Windows Backup Is So Important Articles when you are working with a laptop, there are many more reasons why you could lose information than just worrying about viruses. Yes, viruses are rampant and most of us aren’t as careful as we should be when we are online, but more often than not, it is a physical problem that causes the data loss.

Who among us has not mishandled or actually dropped their laptop. It only takes one time for you to do that before you realize just how important your information was. Having a Windows backup might not help you with that computer, but it will enable you to re-create all of your data and your entire computing environment on another drive or computer if you need to.

Unlike computers that had detached keyboards or were kept away from the working area, a laptop is easy to ruin with liquids, dust, cat or dog fur, and any number of other problems including overheating. By having a good Windows backup program running, you will always have a place to go if something does happen.

The best backup programs will allow you to send your backup to another drive or to “the cloud” in order to keep it safe from whatever may be making you lose data – virus, electrical issues, burglary, water or fire damage, or just bad computing. Whatever you do, don’t keep your backup data in the same place as your computer, or you might just end up losing both of them.
