Advice for Dealing With Breakups And What You Really Want To Know - How To Get Him Back

Are you dealing with a breakup, perhaps wondering how to get him back? Slow down and get serious questions answered before you make a big mistake. Here is some guidance to make sure you end up getting what you really want.

Dealing with breakups is never easy, and is quite challenging emotionally. You probably ask yourself "what now?". Do you suck it up and move on, do you beg him to take you back? Please, neither of these. It is not yet time to ask how to get him back.

There are a lot of ways for a woman to get her man back after a breakup and you may have been considering some of these. May I suggest you might be getting ahead of yourself?

First, do you really know where you stand? If you are an emotional wreck you do not want to be making decisions that effect the rest of your life right now. If you are feeling pretty stable, then you need to answer some questions first.

Do you really want to ask how to get him back before knowing if you really should want him back? Take a good long look back at the relationship you had with this guy and evaluate the good, the bad and whether there existed any really ugly.

Are you attracted to him for the right reasons; will these reasons stand the test of time? Often when dealing with a breakup we can get to fixated on either the good or the bad and forget that both existed and overlook one or the other.

If this guy just happened to provide some safety and stability in your life then that probably is far short of what you want for a long term relationship. Stability in life can be provided in a lot of ways and the reasons you might be seeking that right now can change quickly over time.

If on the other hand this person really met all of your qualifications for a long term relationship then maybe he is worth wanting back. Some guys are a real gem and worth some sacrifice and compromise on your part.

Only you can decide this for sure.

Ask yourself why you want him back.
The reasons you give yourself will say a lot about the relationship. If being with him was just the best thing you ever experienced because of how well he treated you and made you feel then that is something not every man will give you.

Never presume he will treat you better in the future than he did at first. The norm is for people to start to take each other for granted over time. It is my advice to work to counter that trend in a relationship, but if his treatment of you was not superb at first, do not move forward "hoping" it will get better.

Do you know if he wants you back?
Part of this is going to be answered by what caused the breakup. Imagine you were him, would you want you back?

If you have received some indication that he is open to the idea, and you have already decided that you would like to get back together, then maybe it is time to work on an opening to discuss it.

Rushing into rebuilding the relationship is not wise, though. Dealing with breakups can be more complicated than it seems. The correct steps for how to get him back are usually not obvious.
