Coping With A Breakup - Here Is The First Step Toward A Second Chance

Coping with a breakup means dealing with a lot of confusing and even conflicting emotions. Should you move on in life after you are over your ex or should you work together to rebuild and give the relationship a second chance? Find out here.

Coping with a breakup is never easy. A lot of mixed up emotions will go tearing through your body in quick succession, sometimes leaving only confusion and sadness.

The first thing you need to do after losing the love of your life is to get clear in your own mind exactly how you feel towards your ex. Do not think about particular events like arguments or the fight that led to the breakup.

You need to dig past some of the clutter and confusion and really face the heart of the matter. Did you notice that the relationship was beginning to go badly long before the actual breakup?

Spending some time by yourself coping with the breakup can help you sort out the random noise from your true feelings about your ex and the way the relationship fell apart. Was it a refusal on the part of one or the other of you to deal with the little conflicts as they came along until finally something had to give?

Or was there one core issue, possibly even an incident of infidelity - emotional or physical - that tore the rift between you? This is what you have to find out and know for yourself.

Once you have your head on straight you can proceed to begin working through things with your ex and open a line of communication to him or her. You want to remain calm and collected at all times because you do not want to just start another argument.

What you do want to do is find out if your ex has any interest in trying to put your relationship back together in a different and better way; a sort of second chance, if you will.

Discuss with him or her the issues you feel led to the relationship breakup and honestly seek their opinion and feelings toward those issuesPsychology Articles, or even issues they may come up with on their own. Are you both willing to work things out together and even compromise?

Maybe you mutually decide to go your own ways. But you may also find that you just care too much for each other to really give up. Gauge the willingness of both you and your ex partner to work hard to change any behavior you each have that is not conducive to a healthy relationship.

You can actually work together in coping with a breakup since you had and may still have love for each other. Honestly determine what is best for each of you and reconcile if you feel there is a second chance.
