Men and Women Seeking Love: Get Web Wise

For men seeking women, or women seeking men, the web now has all the answers. The trick is to use it with wisdom.

Feeling lonely and stranded after a break-up? Or too busy to expand your social circle? There may be quite a few other reasons for feeling solitary other than the ones just cited. You could have just moved to another suburb or county, or recently graduated from university. Whatever your circumstances the feeling of loneliness can be quite suffocating and killing.

With social alienation growing at an alarming pace plenty of love lives are getting stalled. There are as many single men seeking women as there are single women seeking men. With social realities getting in the way of Cupid, love is increasingly becoming a sporadic entity. There are sociological agents, of course, that hold the promise of ending one's quest for love; sociological agents like marriage bureaus and dating services. These agents are, however, erratically located and unavailable on an equitable basis. That is why a rising number of men seeking women and, conversely, women seeking men are turning to the web to find love.

While cyber space throws up immense dating possibilities, a lot of people are wary of using it. Till not too long ago website dating was considered dangerous thanks to newspaper reports citing horrific instances related to internet romance. A lot of people fail to take precautions while going online to find love.

Don't give out personal details on your first cyber 'date' right away. It is to get carried away while chatting; so much easier than trying to strike up a conversation at the neighborhood bar. But exercise caution while getting to know your date. Taking it slow is always a good idea. Always remain wary of those who want to meet you the first time round in private, sans friends or chaperon.

Having your antenna up at all times is another must-remember rule. If, for instance, your date demands your address and cell number but is reluctant to give out theirs, or contacts you erratically and often hangs up on you hurriedly, be assured they are not genuine. A study conducted by MSNBC discloses an alarming infographic: one-third of online daters are married!

No matter how 'nice' the person at the other end appears do not give out, at all costs, your email address right away. Many people are not aware that dating sites are often used by unscrupulous marketers to send you spam.
