The Rules of Attraction.

http://www.hookmeup.com.au When it comes to romance, opposites don't always attract. We uncover the fundamentals of how science could help you find 'the one' Chatting to someone you've met for the first time for several minutes is usually enough time to assess whether you are attracted to them or not. If you are, then singles will be fascinated. If you are attached and in a happy relationship with someone else, be careful.

Anthropologist Diane Bishop, says that the reason sparks fly for certain people in an initial conversation depend on how well personalities types suit. Well that doesn't take a genius to figure out or require a great deal of scientific input! Or does it, Bishop disagrees and goes on to say that four chemicals are responsible in deciding who we are attracted to. 1/ Two sex hormones 2/ Two neurotransmitters 3/ Dopamine and serotonin 4/ Testosterone and oestrogen.

Out of these molecules determine four clear-cut personality types. 1/ The builder - Has increased serotonin bodily function and is conservative, stereotypical and a leader. 2/ The director - High testosterone levels form a self-asserting, volatile and closed minded personality. 3/ The negotiator - Is regulated by oestrogen and is sympathetic by nature. 4/ The explorer - Characterized by extreme levels of dopamine, likes to explore and is inventive.

A U.S based online dating site provided Bishop access to their member data base where details of a questionnaire were compiled largely confirming her own separate studies. Bishop undertook an experiment for her hypotheses regarding personality and chemistry between the sexes.

Studies have been carried out regarding how chemistry relates to romance for years and the only outcome that has ever been identified is that opposites attract. Nothing more nothing less which seems like a narrow view or outcome given the abundance of influences society and genetics play.

A resounding outcome for Bishop's work on this topic was that similar personalities most certainly attract to each other according to 50% of singles that took part in the questionnaire. i.e. Builders attract builders, Explorers are attracted to explorers, and so on. Builders like the open space of the suburbs which is the serotonin. Explorers seek stimulation and excitement of busy city living which is the dopamine. Whilst it was determined that builders attract each other, and like wise for explorers, opposite personalities - Directors and negotiators were found to be drawn to each other needing each others skills (indecisive personalities need a decisive influence)
