If you have gone over a million scenarios on how to pop the question to your girlfriend,Thinking of Popping the Question? 6 Tips for Getting the Response You Desire Articles you are not the only one.  Proposing to your girlfriend can be one of the most difficult and stressful times you will ever face.  But at the same time it can be the most unforgettable moment as well.  Here are 6 tips to consider when popping the question.

1. Ask for permissionAlthough it certainly isn’t required, it is a sign of respect to ask for permission from the mother or father-in-law to be.  Not only will you gain respect from your fiancé when she hears what you did, but the mother and father-in-law will appreciate you taking the time to ask for permission. This will help to create harmony within your new family by showing everyone that you are an honorable person.

2. Be confidentProposing to your girlfriend is nerve-racking because you want to get it right and say the right things, but most importantly you want her to say yes.  You will be a lot more confident if you go into the proposal confident that she will say yes.  After all, you wouldn’t be proposing to her if you didn’t believe she loved you.

3. Know your girlfriends personalityThe best way to come up with a scenario of how to pop the question is to know your girlfriends personality.  If your girlfriend is a sports nut, proposing over the jumbo-tron at the basketball game may be the preferred option.  But if she is more of a traditional  romantic, taking her to a fancy restaurant will be more appropriate.

4. PracticeIt may sound weird, but practice what you are going to say and how you are going to say it.  When the time comes, you will be extremely nervous and she will be awe-struck when she realizes what is happening.  Popping the question is a one time deal, so you want to make sure you do it right. Practicing will also help you build confidence.

5. Make it memorableIf you meet a nice couple at a social event and discover that they are married, what is usually the first question you ask?  So how did it happen?  You want to make sure you give your girlfriend a story to tell in the future.  Give her a proposal like none other and she will remember it the rest of her life.

6. Enjoy the momentThus far I have talked about honor, confidence, awareness, practicing your lines and making your proposal memorable.  There certainly seems to be a lot of pressure to get it right, which can be stressful.  But you have to make sure you enjoy the moment because it will be perhaps one of the happiest moments you will ever experience.

As long as you practice and plan ahead, you should have no problem popping the question to your girlfriend.  No matter how confident you are, it is perfectly normal to be nervous.  But take in the moment and enjoy every last bit of it. This is just the first step to much greater things that are yet to come to you. This is the beginning of an incredible and wonderful new life… as a husband.
