Why Men Pull Away? What Does a Man Really Mean With What He Is Saying?

Why men pull away? It’s an all too often familiar situation. A man tells a woman that he is not ready to be in a relationship with her, only for her to find out soon after that he is dating another woman. Nothing can hurt worse than hearing these words from his mouth and seeing how his actions do not fit his motives. Why is it that he says one thing but does something completely different?

The first thing to understand is that men and women are completely different in how they are made and how they think. This difference can cause a person’s ears to hear things differently and their minds to interpret things differently.  His idea of a night-in:  fast food and a sports channel.  A woman’s idea of a night-in:  home cooked dinner followed by a movie on his couch.

If he says to you that he’s not ready for a commitment, what women hear is: he wants to keep dating for now and eventually he’ll be ready to commit.  What he means is: he’s not ready for a commitment with you.  It doesn’t mean he’s not ready for a commitment at this present time, it just means not with you.  You haven’t presented yourself to be the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.  You are missing something he is seeking and needing in the relationship.  He’s not going to tell you that he needs you to be a better person; he will tell you that he wants to see other people.

As an example:

If you have a list of symptoms you cannot explain and you know you need a doctor to help you determine what is causing your problems. You wouldn’t head to the local medical school and hire the first doctor who walked out of the building. Instead, you’d hire someone with experience and education to diagnose your problem.

Why men pull away from a relationship

Men can be seen in much the same way. They want someone that will make their lives better and have fun in the process.  They don’t want to educate you in what they need. They want you to already have your head on straight with clear direction in your life, before you come to the table. 

You must understand why men are first attracted to the women and for some reasons why men pull away from the relationship. Physical attraction is a magnet that draws people together.  Emotional attraction is the glue that keeps people together.  Keeping your man means you need to be the woman that he can’t live without.  You need to be the person that can look beyond unfavorable qualities and be thankful for the good qualities.  Your emotional stability and dependability will be much appreciated and cherished.
