On 18th May,Client insight drives Sporting’s new website Articles in London,  Sporting Index, the world leaders in sports spread betting, announce the full launch of its new website (www.sportingindex.com) – uniquely designed by its clients for its clients.
In a first for any betting organization, Sporting Index made the new site available for almost a year in beta format, allowing clients to drive the development process.

Sporting Index’s Commercial Director Mark Maydon explained: “We wanted to deliver the best sports spread betting experience for our clients. So we started by asking what they wanted out of the new site, built a prototype and then gave it to the clients to get their further feedback and suggestions.
“Today’s website – from the design to the functionality – is therefore very much their creation. We’ve been really encouraged by the sheer amount of feedback we’ve received.”
The look and feel of the site has been updated, with simplicity the key theme. The bet placement process and open bets area have both changed dramatically with all the action now taking place on the right side of the screen. All bets appear in a tab on the right of the page - crucially allowing bets to be confirmed without losing sight of the live prices.

In-play betting and live prices was one of the most important areas highlighted by Sporting Index’s clients and this is now much speedier, which means individuals are more likely to be able to strike a bet before a price changes.

An overhaul of the way live prices are handled means these are updated significantly quicker than the previous website. Maydon said: “If you follow, say, a cricket match on sportingindex.com you’ll find our scoreboard and associated prices update quicker than anything else on the web, including the big cricket portals such as Cricinfo.com.”
A new In-play menu is also always available containing shortcuts to live events in a box in the middle right of the site – again a nod to the fact that Sporting Index take over 50% of bets in running.
Other upgrades include a ‘Coupons’ feature which enables clients to aggregate their favourite markets without needing to navigate multiple pages from event to event and a quicker, more consistent and more intuitive ‘My Account’ section.
Maydon added: “Our clients have been fantastic in telling us what they want. Of course, like any good website, it’s always work in progress and we will continue to roll out new features in the months ahead – involving clients in this development process at every step.”
