The fashion industry has evolved along with the changes in the surrounding technological environment and has managed to rise profitably. At the production level, designers, manufacturers, contractors and others manufacture the fashion goods. In the third level that is the retail level the fashion products are distributed and sold to different consumers. The last level consists of advertising and promotional strategies and methods adopted by the fashion brands and companies. These levels consist of many separate but interdependent sectors, all of which are devoted to the goal of satisfying consumer demand for apparel under conditions that enable participants in the industry to operate at a profit.The fashion industry is one of the largest employers in United States for decades now. However employment has considerably reduced since production is now being moved to countries like China that offer cheap labor. Since data on the fashion industry is typically reported for national economies and expressed in terms of the industry’s separate sectors, aggregate figures for world production of textiles and clothing is difficult to obtain. Either way, by any measure, the industry accounts for a significant share of the world’s economic output.
