Most of the people does not understand the term Web Based Application. Although they are the users of many web based applications but the term has still not come out of being a technical term.
Web based
applications had left a great impact on me as I being a software developer I
had really understood the advantages it has over the Desktop based software
applications. The influence is so much that it has let me to start with my own
software development company Growth Technosoft with a core focus area being Web
Application Development. The objective
is to help people explore the potential this technology possesses and to
implement ideas that I had been grooming since I first came across World Wide
Web.
But when I
started telling people around me about idea of Web Based Applications and why I
have chosen this area of development it came to me as a surprise that being
user of email, and internet these people find it hard to understand Web Based
Applications.
It took lot
of efforts for me to explain what a Web Based Application is by quoting
examples of email services they use and interface and login screen they come
across, by giving examples of various accounting desktop applications they use
and translating the same into a web based application.
All these
things really made me rethink did I really choose a wrong technology or does it
poses a great potential ahead and is in a very nascent stage. After thinking
again I was pretty sure that there is not problem in the technology and people
just lack education because people are using Net banking, email, Social
Networking sites but they were not able to relate the term “Web Based
Application” with what they have already being doing.
