Why do so many people fail then to get people interested in building a business with them?

Well for starters, net.work marketing has been around since the 1920's. There are thousands of companies that have used the net.work mark.eting approach, some with great success; others have failed, due to a number of reasons.

Although the net.work marketing model proved successful for such companies as Nutrilite and Amway, success attracts a lot of attention and soon the dark side would try and take away some of that success. Many unethical business owners created a counterfeit version of an MLM based on the Ponzi Scheme from the late 1920's. The result was a Pyramid Selling Scheme that continues to taint the MLM industry by reputation.

In the 1960's and 1970's these pyramid schemes suddenly popped up everywhere. A product was attached to a money pyramid in order to appear they were actually marketing something. Although people still associate MLM companies to pyramid schemes, it was in fact the MLM companies that reported the schemes to the government to have the outlawed. Dubious MLM schemes are still around, making it important to do your due diligence before you jump in.

MLM Has Evolved

Most companies are still teaching people methods to build their business that simply aren't effective in today's society.

People are still being taught to pitch their opportunity to their friends and family members, neighbors, and coworkers. But these people have already been hit up with everything under the sun. The fact of the matter is, people are trying to sponsor people into their business who simply aren't interested in buying anything from them. From fund raisers to girls knocking on the door to sell Girl Scout cookies, people are tired of having things sold to them, and most people approach their network marketing opportunity as a form of selling. This is wrong for a number of reasons.

First of all, people don't join a network marketing opportunity to sell a product. They join network marketing opportunities because of the attraction to earn an incredible monthly residual income. What happens though is they approach people completely opposite of the reason they joined a business. They approach them from a sales perspective, instead of showing someone how to build a successful business that can financially reward them with a serious monthly income.

When you join a Network Marketing opportunity, you are responsible for growing your portion of the business. By helping others grow their business (your downline), you prosper from the work they perform. A viable Network Marketing business must have the right people to ensure the business will flourish. This is one of the most important things to consider when looking at Network Marketing opportunities. Number two is the product or service the business sells. It must be something people will be willing to pay for and it must be affordable.

Over the years, it has been proven that businesses based on the Network Marketing business model have grown during a recession, while traditional businesses have gone under or barely survived. Which type of business would you rather build?
