So, think of a good keyword about a product that you want to sell, open up another window, and do a search for it. With that window open beside this one, look for these common strategies to drive traffic:

- Web 2.0 Content Sites: Let's say you are selling a product about how to make money online. If you do a search for "how to make money on ebay" and scroll through the results, you'll notice quite a few of the sites listed on the first couple pages are for articles from ezinearticles.com, eHow.com, etc.

These are all Web 2.0 sites that allow anybody to post content. And Google indexes them very well because of their popularity. If you don't have your own internet marketing website, try posting content on sites like these that will allow you to post an affiliate link, so you can make some money by using their popularity.

- Blogs: Its a good idea to set up a blog for the products you are marketing online. Sites like Wordpress will host a blog for free and give you access to their Content Management System (CMS). You can set up an internet marketing blog on your affiliate topic, for free, and have go good chance of the search engines indexing it well.

This will lay the groundwork for the future should you go on to make your own site.

- YouTube Videos: YouTube (owned by Google) videos rank very highly. Use this as part of your internet marketing business plan. If you can make a short video that introduces your product and post it with a keyword-heavy title and description, you can generate some good traffic.
