A shopping cart on an e-commerce website works just like a regular shopping cart used at a retail outlet or the grocery store. Customers get to check out items available for sale and when they identify items that they like they get to add them to a shopping cart. The shopping cart does the arithmetic each time a product is added or removed from the cart. Once the shopping process is complete, the customer is taken to the checkout area where they get to confirm their purchases including the items and their number. After this they get to choose a payment method so they pay using the most convenient form of payment suitable to them.

Installing a shopping cart is an important and essential part of the e-commerce website. The shopping cart is installed by a software technology professional or a programmer who understand web design and programming. Ideally, the cart should be planned during the planning stage. Here the programmer should work with the e-commerce website owner so as to coordinate the inclusion and design of the shopping cart.

A good web commerce site should incorporate a shopping cart to enable users enjoy their shopping experience. It also makes shopping on the website much easier and well organized. The website should have a good and reliable customer service provision so that customers can provide feed back to the site owner and manager. Any such issued should be addressed so that the shopping experience gets to improve and be positive for the shoppers.
