Some dorm rooms even come with their own bathrooms, which is fantastic, especially if you don't really like sharing with other individuals.
However, besides these pieces you will require some basic necessities. Storage space will be necessary, both inside the dorm and outside. consider this, you don't have to store everything in your room. There is space available within the college area, but it will cost you a few dollars in order to reserve. This is another reason why you need to save up some money before you go away to school. Saving up a couple of dollars before you go away to school is very helpful, because it will teach you those skills of being completely pulled together.
Taking time to stock up on basics such as food, school supplies, and bathroom supplies is a good idea. Don't waste your cash on new clothing; this is something which is not needed, take what is in your closet with you. The college kids are going to be perfectly fine with what you are currently wearing. And if you don't have enough room take a few things with you each time. Don't take your whole closet with you; this will take up too much space. Take what you want and then send for the rest later on. That way you can store the rest of your closet in a rented space. This is notably applicable for those students who are not going to go back home.
Dorm living prepares you for life after college. And for those students who are intending on staying even after they graduate, this is a good learning experience.
