Does MBA covers points for PR in Australia?

If you are planning to apply for Australian PR visa, then your MBA degree can become you key towards scoring higher points in your overall skilled migration points test.

Generally, total 15 points are awarded for an MBA degree towards an applicant's overall point score.

But, this doesn't guarantee you a PR in Australia. To qualify you must score total 67 points in all the selection parameters, which includes you Educational qualification, age, work experience, language ability, adaptability, etc.

Also, as per the Migration Amendment (New Skilled Regional Visas) Regulations 2019, the following revisions have been made to the Australian points test, which are in effect since 16th November 2019:

  • 10 points for those who have a skilled spouse or de facto partner
  • 15 points for those who are nominated by a Territory or State government or got sponsored by their family member who live in regional Australia
  • 10 more points are for those who have certain STEM qualifications
  • 10 points for those who doesn't have any spouse or de facto partner
  • 5 points for those who have spouse or de facto partner with proficiency in English language

So, overall, with a Masters degree, good English language score and extensive work experience in Australia's skilled occupation, you can obtain Australia's residency within a year.
