Read. Reading is a great way for you to improve your English. By reading,Improve your English - 5 Simple Tips Articles you'll be introduced to new vocabulary words and will also see how English grammar is used. It is necessary to note that grammar is not always used properly in spoken English. In writing, however, grammar needs to be used properly. Therefore, the more often you read, the more you will notice how particular words are used along with the grammar. It is not so important what you read, just read something in English. The key thing is to read about something you are interested in. If it is a topic that you are interested in, then you are more likely to read about it more regularly and for longer periods of time.

Watch Television shows or movies. Watching dvds or Television shows in English is a really good way to improve your listening abilities. If it’s feasible, I also recommend utilizing English subtitles. By using the subtitles, you will be able to hear how the word is pronounced and how it is spelled. This helps your brain associate words with their sounds.

Listen to music or podcasts. Listening to music can be a great way to enhance your listening abilities too. Even if your local radio stations do not play lots of English songs, you can find a lot of English radio stations on the web. I suggest printing out the words of your favorite songs and learning the words so that you are able to sing along. In addition, I recommend listening to podcasts. There are podcasts on practically every topic, so you are certain to find something to your liking.

Word of caution: Song writers do not always use English grammar correctly. Words are often picked for how they sound in the song and not for grammar purposes.

Practice. This is without a doubt the best way to better your English. It may well also be the most difficult, particularly if you reside in a non-English speaking country and work full time. There are different ways, however, that you can practice your English. Taking an English course, for instance, is always a terrific way to practice your English. You could take a class from a traditional school or try one online. If money is an issue, try finding English blogs that give free lessons. You could also befriend an English speaking person on Facebook, MySpace, or another social media site. There are always folks looking to learn a different language. Just find someone that would like to learn your language and offer to help them if they help you. You never know, this could lead to a great friendship or your true love.

Take notes and jot things down. If you write down words or expressions that you don’t know, you may then refer back to them later. I suggest trying to take a simple notepad with you so that you can note down words you don’t know. This comes in handy when you are watching a show, listening to music, talking with others, or sitting in your English class. Later, you can look up the definitions. Do not panic if you do not know how to spell a word. Just make a note of how the word sounds or how you think it may be written. To obtain the true spelling, you can go to Google and key in the word that you are looking for. If it turns out it is misspelled, Google will give you the most probable word. You could also open a Microsoft word document or something like that and enter the word in that as well. It will also give you a collection of suggested words. Once you have determined the word, you can then get the definition. The next step would be to start making use of the word or phrase in your discussions and in your writing.
