There are conflicts and confusions among marketers and business owners about the effectiveness of email marketing. It may be extremely profitable for some types of businesses but not so much for others. There are some misconceptions about this type of marketing which one needs to get over since this is a very effective form of direct marketing. Marketing is the process of presenting a right product or service with right message at right time to the right person.
1. It is a common misconception in email marketing that you should not use the word “free” in the email messages you send since that may set off spam filters. This word is not a reason of your email rejection or spam filtration. It is possible that some obscure and low quality spam filters are directed to delete emails containing the word “free”. Quality spam filters don’t use such bogus algorithms to delete emails containing the word “free”. It is a common trend among legitimate marketers to use phrases like “free e-book”, “free white paper” and “free shipping”. You can use this word in your marketing message because it can bring tremendous results but before using it you should test it.
2. It is a good strategy to send your emails on working days because the open rates are higher on these days. But if your product or service is related to the holidays or vacations then weekend is the best time to send your email marketing message. Normally it is seen that spam mails are often received on weekends therefore it is recommended to send your emails on working days instead of weekends.
3. Email marketing is a cost effective method of marketing therefore marketers should focus on organically growing their email list to get better results. Although, it is a common misconception that results are improved with large lists of email addresses. It is good to grow your email list but you should search and find out the list of activeFree Web Content, motivated and interested customers to get good response. You should research your email lists and divide them in smaller groups according to the nature and demands of people to market your products or services. You can also make groups according to their location because in this way you can focus on your target markets.
These are some common misconceptions that create doubts in the hearts of people but they should go ahead and take positive steps to succeed. These assumptions are made on guess work but you should decide on the base of facts.
