Building your own recreation area at the house is a fun and effective way to have a space for you and your kids to play. But when it's not enough to just pave an area and just put up a hoop you could use basketball court stenciling. Why not play on a realistically-painted surface to best train for the real thing in a gymnasium?

Designing and installing your own area to shoot hoops is fun for the whole family. It is great to set up a backboard and hoop and spend time shooting free throws and dribbling around. There are ways to increase the fun. For one thing, you could make the area more realistic. Basketball court stenciling allows you the opportunity to have real free throw and three-point lines drawn so that you can actually practice the fundamentals of the game. You and your kids will enjoy hours of one-on-one fun while you both improve your game. Typically best left to professionals, there are kits available if you want to do the job yourself. Typically these kits are large cardboard fold out templates that one puts in the driveway and simply spray paints over the top of. Many people tend to go with basic white but there is no reason not to use a color that is more fun. A fun idea is to paint the lines with glow in the dark paint to extend play into the twilight.

While basketball court stenciling is great, there are a few other additions you may want to consider. Building a hoop is a fun idea, but the fun is reduced if you have to chase the ball down every time you make or miss a shot. Instead, buy one of the rollback units that attach beneath the net. These look sort of like a fishing nest suspended from the backboard. They will catch air balls and points equally and roll them back to the shooter. This allows a person to keep shooting without worrying about stopping and trying to get the ball from the yard.

There is no reason to add professional basketball court stenciling, build a good hoop with a return system, and then use a crummy ball. Instead, opt for a high-quality ball that will last and provide optimal performance. There is no reason to go to all the trouble of practicing and working to get better if the primary piece of equipment is inferior. In order to provide your child the best opportunity to improve and have fun, do not neglect this critical component. Instead, go for the quality ball and strive to give them the best advantage.
