Times have changed and so has the way you record your favorite music and take it with you. The cassette records and tapes have made way for the MP3 player. Although most cassette recorders were medium size, some were small but not as small as an MP3 player was.

The cassette record was awkward to carry,Carry Your Favorite Music With You on an MP3 Player Articles could not fit in your pocket, carried by the handle, and required "C" or "D" batteries.  Yes, the MP3 player uses battery but not the big bulky ones a cassette player did.  With an MP3 player, you can pug it into your computer and download music. With the cassette player, you usually recorded from the radio and the sound quality was not that good.

Although the cassette recorder and MP3 player are ways to record and listen to music, you can see how far technology has come in over 25 years.  The teenagers of today think the cassette recorder is ancient.  Twenty-five years from now, those teenagers will think the MP3 player is ancient.

You can purchase an MP3 player at your local department stores, or electronic stores.  They range in price from $25 to $200.  The price depends on the brand name, and what features you want.

The one for $25 can store up to 1000 songs, has a capacity of 2GB and 2GB flash memory.  It has a voice recorder to record lectures, notes, or anything else.  This model has high-speed USB 2.0 connection ensures quicker transfer and comes in a variety of colors.  It has a 1.5-inch color display and rechargeable battery.

The high-end MP3 player has 32MG flash memory and can record up to 8,000 songs.  This model has a 3.3-inch touch screen display, built-in radio, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and you can create custom play lists based on your favorite music.

The only differences between the low end and the high end are the price, how many songs you can download, the size of the screen and how many GB are in the flash memory.  The higher end lets you record 8,000 songs, but what does anyone need with that many songs and how will they listen to all of them?  If you need more than 1000 songs capacity and more GB flash memory, there are several models in between these two models.

As with most of the newest electronically devices, you will need to read the specifics to get the one that fits your need.  No longer can you walk into a department store, and choose a cassette recorder based on the price you can afford.  With the holiday season upon us, these would make a very nice gift.

If you have a child heading to college, or is in college, an MP3 player would help them take notes without missing anything important.  Being so portable, you can slip them in your pocket, or backpack, making them very portable.  If you are stuck, sitting somewhere with nothing to do, just put the earphone is and you can listen to music while you wait.
