Enchanting Depictions of Animal World: Artworks by Christina Marie Chavez Benerjee

NEW YORK, NY – Chelsea’s Agora Gallery will feature the original work of Christina Marie Chavez Benerjee in Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition. The exhibition opens August 19, 2017 and runs through August 30,  2017 with an opening reception on Saturday, August 19 from 6-8 pm.

Alive with personality, Christina Marie Chavez Benerjee's charming portraits of elephants, crows, monkeys, and other animals are strikingly detailed. Banerjee draws inspiration for her work from her experiences and travels–particularly in the country of India, which she loves for its vivid colors and vibrant energy.

Banerjee was born in the US, but currently makes her home in New Delhi, India. In portraying the animals she sees in her daily life, Banerjee hopes her work increases awareness of how the wild creatures of the world are affected by a changing natural landscape.

About the Exhibition

Chelsea International Fine Art Competition Exhibition

This August Agora Gallery presents the selected artists of the 2017 Chelsea International Fine Art Competition. As in years past, the work on display is of incredible variety and extraordinary skill. There are precise, spare drawings in the same gallery as maximal, playful sculptures. There are monochrome, graphic paintings that explore repetition hung near hyper realistic still lifes that take inspiration from the classics of centuries past. There are imagined lands and images of human moments that ring with truth. Even two selected landscape photographers defy comparison - some produce stoic, black-and-white views of single trees, while others create expansive vistas in full color. The 2017 jurors' picks share nothing except fearlessness, adroit executionPsychology Articles, and unforgettable originality.
