As the kingdoms have broken apart, vengeful motives and a desire to capture the throne fills the kingdom. If you like books that have dark magic and political suspense as well as the personal struggles of people with various agendas and motives and pasts, then this book will be the one that will rivet your senses and fasten you to the pages as though you were under a mighty spell yourself.

A Storm of Swords is another by the same author, and it is about the characters who try to hold the kingdom together and keep it all from falling apart. The characters from the previous novels return to seek their destiny and to struggle forth with all their new desires. There is more magic, fighting, and spellbinding suspense in this novel, as well, so that you can immerse yourself into the series and really enjoy the world of magic that Martin creates.

A Feast of Crows is another book by the same author. Few books have captivated the imagination of its readers as has George Martin's monumental epic series of fantasy.
