Finding Rocky Horror Outfit Parts at Costume Stores

You may have heard about people that have attended a RHPS film festival. Chatter around the costume stores is generally good to find out where these are held, but also, what you need to know. There are so many things about these events that make them fun, it's hard to nail just one aspect down. Before you attend a Rocky event, it's important to know that these shows are not for the bashful. They are risque by nature and as such, not for everyone. However, if you enjoy a wild dress up romp, this may be just what you're looking for. Here are a few of the more popular character outfits.

Costume stores often see people looking for better elements to the Dr. Frank-N-Furter outfit. Because this is one of the main characters of the story, he appears in almost every scene. Initially, he's dressed in a black corset, a garter belt and thigh highs, panties and a pearl necklace. In the beginning of the plays or movie, he'll often be seen with a black cape. There is also a lab scene where he is wearing green scrubs and if you're wanting to go with this character but not really wanting to go all out, this may be a good option for you.

Another character that people enjoy playing is Columbia. Costume stores will often carry various components of her costumes as well because she wears several during both the play and the movie. In her first appearance she is wearing a sequined costume and tap shoes. This is more often than not the outfit of choice for people who dress up as her for the events and shows. However, she also has a variation from the lab scene where she covers that costume with a lab mask and apron. Another outfit she wears is a set of Mickey Mouse ears and pajamas. Her final outfit is very similar to Dr. Frank-N-Furters: a black corset and stockings.

Two of the most simple characters that people enjoy dressing as for these events are Riff Raff and Magenta. Though at the end of the movie, both are wearing futuristic space suits, for the duration, they both have the same outfits. Riff Raff's will be a butler's outfit with a white shirt underneath, black pants, and a black jacket. Usually, the upper portion of the back is stuffed a little to create the appearance of a hump. Magenta's outfit is a simple maid's outfit: white apron, black dress, small white hat.

Though there are other characters that people love to dress up as for these events, lastly, we have Janet. In the beginning, she wears a prim little suit that is simply a pink dress with a white sweater and hat. Most people, however, prefer to dress in her later costume, which consists of a white slip, panties and bra. They are conservative looking and again, quite prim. Towards the end of the movie, again, she like many others will be wearing the black corset and thigh highs.
