There are many things to do when you can go on a trip. The problem may be that you do not have time to do all that you want in the time you have.

You may find fun parades to honor the military or small town get-togethers that are too good to pass up. You may even want to explore the shopping centers, especially those that offer artisan shops or feature open-air markets. Instead of heading to the national chains for meals, go to the small diners and talk to the locals. Find out what they like to do for fun. This is how you find those great fishing holes or hidden beaches that are far better than the ones most tourist use. There are always things to do while on vacation but sometimes it can be nice to not do anything at all. It is a good idea to give yourself time to walk the local trails and to take in the aquariums or zoos. Get to know the people and the area the way they do and you may have far more fun on your trip.
