How to read Piano Letters

To a lot of people, working their way to music using the piano and reading piano letters seems the best thing on earth. Indeed there are so many things out there that music can do to people. The piano is one of the best instruments ever. This string instrument is loved by many because of the lovely tunes that it produces that is, without any marks of angst or loud and off key beat. Although most of the young people right now are into bass guitars and drums, the appeal of the piano still lingers that most would still want to learn how to play this instrument. 

Fortunately, gone were the days when people would still have to learn much about music notes and of placing the right notes in the right line or space in the music staff so that music could be played in the instrument. There is so much complexity with that kind of learning and most kids tend to get bored in the first few sessions that they drop the piano lessons entirely. Now, what kids would just have to do is to learn how to read the piano letters to enable better and faster learning of playing the instrument.

How are you supposed to do that? Or how will kids and even adults learn how to play piano in such a convenient way? Here are the steps that one could take so that learning how to play the piano could be fun and easy!

First, one must familiarize the western music scale. The number one thing that would help you is the easy way of remembering the notes because each would refer to a letter in the English alphabet but only up to the letter Z. Now, there will not be a need anymore for you to think so much of what a half note looks like or what is the difference between the quarter and eight notes when you have familiarized piano letters.

Second, you would have to identify the two clefs of the grand staff. In piano music, the two clefs are notated so that a wide range of octave could be covered. So when you are reading a piece of piano sheet music, in every two lines of the staff, you could have an equal of one music line occurring at the same time. The piano letters would work same way for you. The upper clef is known as the treble (used to connote higher notes) and the lower clef is the bass clef (used to notate lower notes).

Third, make it a point to study the lines and spaces on the bass and treble cleff staves. It is also important that you would learn which of which corresponds with the piano letter and learn how they correspond with letter note names. From bottom up, the tremble corresponds to EGBDF and the spaces correspond to the FACE.

Fourth, familiarize the instrument. Of course there are always a lot of things that you would have to learn about the instrument- history, material, strings and everything else that comes between. You would have to make sure that you know much about what the instrument is so that you could play as if you are one with it. This is why it is pretty important for one to learn how to read piano letters.

Lastly, practice and practice even more. No one expects you to learn how the piano letters or playing the piano overnight. Before you could be called an expert at something, you must at least be able to go through the process of learning and discovering things.
