I get this question a lot from people who see my tattoos. After they ask me all the normal questions, did it hurt, how long did it take and so on. They always ask how much did it cost? Well I’m here to tell you there really isn’t a set rate to how much a tattoo cost. It all depends on the artist really. If you are going to a very well known experienced artist you can expect to pay $180 an hour and up. You also have to take in consideration how big the tattoo is and how many colors are going to be used. Also if you want some sort of custom tattoo that the artist has to draw out you will be looking at a bigger price tag than if you picked something off the wall.

Now probably what you all want to know, how much did I pay for my tattoos? I have no problem sharing. I paid $50 for my first tattoo which is a Lion’s head on my left shoulder blade and I paid $75 for my Libra Scales I have on the lower part of my back. Both of my tattoos took about 10 minutes a piece and they are not very big. So I hope this gives you a little insight on how much money you are going to spend on a tattoo. Just keep this in mind, you get what you pay for. Chances are if you are paying under $50 for a tattoo you may not be getting good quality work. Not unless you are just getting something very small like a starPsychology Articles, intial or something along those lines.
