So, you've copied some of your PS2 games and now you want to know how to play copied PS2 games. Playing copied PS2 games is easy if you are properly prepared. If you have copied a PS2 game, you can't play it on your PS2 until you modify the system, enabling it to read the copied game. To do so you need a modification tool.
The tool most often recommended for this modification for playing copied PS2 games is called Swap Magic. It's one of the easiest to use and involves minimal modification to your system. When using Swap Magic, however, you will also need a special mod chip (modification chip), Slide Tool, or a Flip Top Cover. Information about these parts is available at the SwapMagic website.
Before you attempt to make any modifications, carefully read the directions on the mod chip installation and Swap Magic. Make sure you understand exactly what must be done to enable playing copied PS2 games. If you make a mistake, it could damage your PS2 system. Once you are sure of what you must do, install your mod chip, flip-top cover, and/or slide tool, which is required to enable installing and removing the game and blank discs without being detected by the PlayStation system. If you follow all the directions that came with your Swap Magic disks, you're ready to go.
Now you're set up for playing copied PS2 games by following the simple steps given below.
1. Insert the Swap Magic disk into the PS2.
2. Press the Power button to display the opening screen.
3. When the Load CD option indicates, open the top flip-flop cover and remove the CD when it stops spinning.
4. Insert your copied game into the PS2.
5. Click Load CD.
You should now be playing that copied game. It's that simple
Be extremely careful when making the necessary modifications described above. If you damage your PS2 system, you'll be on your own. The attempt to modify your system will void its warranty, but that's a decision for you to make. If you do modify your system, be careful when removing and installing the disks while playing copied PS2 games, to avoid damage.
One final word of caution now that you know how to play copied PS2 games. It's OK to make backup copies of your own games, but don't illegally copy games for personal profit.
