Superstar Chiranjeevi is perhaps the most popular name in the South Indian film industry. It is difficult to count the total number of his successful movies but following ten movies will verify why Chiranjeevi is regarded as one of the greatest to have emerged from the South Indian film industry.

Superstar Chiranjeevi is perhaps the most popular name in the South Indian film industry. His talent and popularity do not need an introduction as the Filmfare and Indian Today magazine has tagged him to be 'Greater than Bachchan'. 1. Shankar Dada Zindabad (2007):

Directed by Prabhu Deva, the story of this movie revolves around Shankar, a local goon and murderer who is in love with Jhanvi, a radio station worker. Shankar poses as a teacher to her and helps her in many ways until she finds out the truth about him. The movie opened with packed cinema houses and later turned out to be a good revenue earner.

2. Pratibandh (1991):

Born in an orphanage and brought up by his strict teacher, Siddhanth is a sub inspector in Bombay police who is on the mission to protect Shanti, an eyewitness to a crime. This displeases the higher officials and they decide to teach him a lesson which ultimately results in a grave tragedy. The movie was directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty and was a big hit of the year 1991.

3. Choodalani Vundi (1998):

Choodalani Vundi is one of the best Telugu movies. Released in 1998, the story revolves around Ramakrishna, a mechanic who fall in love with Priya and runs away with her. They end up living in a jungle with their child but Priya's father kidnaps her and in the struggle, their child loses his voice. The movie was directed by Gunasekhar and became the highest gross earning movie of Telugu TV movies in 1998.

4. Mutha Mestri (1993):

The plot revolves around the struggle of Subash Chandra Bose who fights for the rights of the people against a local don and ends up joining politics. The movie is directed by A. Kodandarami Reddy and starring Sharat Saxena, Chiranjeevi, Roja, and Meena. The music was composed by Koti.

5. Annayya (2000):

The movie was released in 2000 and was directed by Muthyala Subbaiah. The plot revolves around Rajaram and Devi who falls in love with each other but when their family came in the picture, the story takes an interesting turn. The movie was a box office hit both critically and commercially and is regarded as one of the highest acclaimed movies of Chiranjeevi's career.

6. Sneham Kosam (1999):

The movies was a remake of Natpukagga and was directed by K.S. Ravikumar. It tells us the story of Chotu who is raised by the landlord of the village. The plot takes a turn when Prabha, the daughter of the landlord returns after completing her studies. The shooting of the movie was completed in 50 days and Chiranjeevi won the best Telugu actor award for his role.

7. Anji (2004):

The movie is about a divine document that reveals the location of a miraculous Shiva Linga. The story takes a turn when Anji and Swapna decide to find the Shiva Linga. The movie was directed by Kodi Ramakrishna and won the National Film Award for Special Effects.

8. Mrugaraju ( 2001):

A lion kills the chief engineer who was sent to the jungle to construct a railway bridge. The department then asks Aishwarya to complete the construction. The ace hunter of the forest Raju is entrusted with the job of protecting Aishwarya. The plot of the movie revolves around how Raju and Aishwarya complete the construction of the bridge.

9. Daddy (2001):

The story of the movie is about Raj and his love for his ailing daughter who is suffering from heart disease. After the death of his daughter, he decides to open a hospital without giving his true identity and begin to work as a volunteer for heart patients. The movie directed by Suresh Krishna and is considered one of the best movies in the history of Telugu TV channels.

10. Iddaru Mitrulu (1999):

Vijay and Anitha are good friends. After her divorce, Vijay decides to support her. But his wife does not like it and gives him an ultimatum. Though the movie was highly praised by critics, it remained an average grosser on the box office.

Chiranjeevi's 150th movie will be produced by Allu Arvinda and the music will be composed by Sri Prasad. Though the plot of the movie is yet not clear, its poster is spreading like Tsunami on the social media. This movie will mark his return after a huge gap of eight years.
