Resident Evil: AfterLife is the fourth installment in a series of film adaptations based loosely on Capcom's survival horror video game series Resident Evil. The movie stars the 34 year Serbian beauty Mila Jovovich, who plays the central role of ‘Alice’ in the movie. The 3D science fiction action horror film written and directed by Mila’s husband, Paul W. S. Anderson will be releasing in screens across the world on 10th September, 2010. The movie also stars the likes of Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller who were previously seen in American TV serials ‘Heroes’ and ‘Prison Break’ respectively.
The movie had two taglines, ‘She's back...And she's bringing a few of her friends’ and ‘September 10 Experience a New Dimension of Evil’. The poster sees Milla falling through a broken window AfterLife picks up from where the third edition ‘Resident Evil: Extinction’ ends as Alice (Milla) is roaming the world in search of remaining survivors. She teams up with a group of survivors from Los Angeles and helps them to free another group of survivors who had been hiding in a prison. The movie sees first time appearances for legendary video game characters Albert Wesker (Shawn Roberts) and Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller). The movie was shot using James Cameron’s 3D Fusion Camera System in Toronto from September to December 2009.
Alice, the lead character in the movie is a former Umbrella Corporation security officer who was accidentally exposed to the T-virus which has given her superhuman abilities and has been hunted down by Umbrella Corporation since her escape from Raccoon City. The Prison Break fame ‘Michael Scofield; Wentworth Miller who plays the role of Chris Redfield, works with an unnamed military organization combating the heinous virus outbreak. This is Miller’s first Hollywood movie and in an interesting interview said that there is something about evil that is "thoughtless and relentless."
