Monopoly Millionaires’ Club Lottery

The game play behind MMC is similar to Hot Lotto and Mega Millions. What makes this lottery game unique is its offer of multiple millionaires if the jackpot prize is won. The starting jackpot of MMC is $15 million; escalating to $18 million,Monopoly Millionaires’ Club Ticket Sales Put on Hold Articles $21 million and $25 million. The top jackpot remains at $25 million until it is won. A player has to match 5/52 numbers in the main lottery and another number (1/28) in the second field which represents a property found in the U.S. version of the Monopoly game board.

Jackpot

Licensed under Hasbro, Monopoly Millionaires’ Club lottery was expected to create more millionaires per draw with its offering of 10 $1 million club prizes on top of the jackpot prize of at least $15 million. The twenty-three states that offered this lottery were Washington DC, Texas, Tennessee, South Dakota, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, New York, New Mexico, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Missouri, Minnesota, Michigan, Maryland, Maine, Kentucky, Iowa, Indiana, Georgia, Florida, Arkansas and Arizona.

The first jackpot of $21 million was won on MMC’s third drawing on November 7th, 2014. On December 5th, 2014, the first $25 million jackpot was won. Prizes can be claimed in annuity or in cash.

Future of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club

With these winnings, the announcement of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club last draw on December 26 came as a surprise even if the state of Texas expressed on December 11th, 2014 its last lottery draw on December 12th, 2014. The remaining 22 states expressed that they will hold two more drawings with December 26th, 2014, 10:15 p.m.as the last draw.

The future of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club is unknown at this time. The Kentucky Lottery President Arch Gleason said that the $5 one-time play might be a bit too much that sales of MMC tickets were too low to sustain the game. He also said that the rules of Monopoly Millionaire’s Club lottery are a bit complicated and far-fetched what with its 1 in 76 million odd of matching all numbers.

There are speculations that the lottery game will return in a new format in 2015. The promised TV game show of Monopoly Millionaires’ Club is yet to be clarified. For those MMC lottery players who won free trips to Las Vegas, you will receive your prizes.
