Many people, especially women, can't go to a new town or city without checking out the clothing stores. When you're trying to find things to do while vacationing, don't hesitate to check out the malls and outlets.

Try a new type of food

If you constantly stay in your comfort zone when it comes to food, take a chance and try something new while on vacation. For instance, if you are a steak and potatoes person at home, explore something different, such as the delicious taste of lobster and shrimp. If spicy really isn't your thing, but you're in a town where one of the local favorites is a special spicy salsa, take the plunge and try it. Visit a water park

Play a round of golf

Admittedly, golf may not be a family activity unless everyone plays. However, even if you're the only one that plays, there's nothing wrong with getting away for a while and playing at least nine holes. The city you're in could have one of the most beautiful golf courses around, and it would be a shame to be in the area and not play. You are on vacation-- treat yourself.
