While VEGAS! the Show may put some of the country’s finest talents on stage,Reva Rice Takes The Stage and Blows Audiences Away Only in VEGAS! the Show! Articles one humble star shines uniquely from the rest , and her name is Reva Rice! Humble, talented and most of all beautiful, Reva is one of the lead voices in the only show in Vegas about Vegas. But while her singing career may have started a little later than most, Reva found her passion for entertaining at a very young age. At only 5 years old she began taking lessons for piano and dancing and would find herself going to the Boston Conservatory of Music right out of high-school. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Reva’s jump to the historical Boston Conservatory of Music indicated from the get-go a talented and passionate woman ready to make a name. The Conservatory itself was historically known for putting together the very first production put on by an African American Theater company, also the schools founder, Julius Eichberg, was responsible for putting together America’s first all female quartet!

With such inspiring roots it’s no wonder Reva through her natural charisma managed to land a spot in the great Andrew Lloyd Webbers hit musical, “The Starlight Express”. Claiming her singing was not yet up to the standard she would have liked, Webber made the role particularly with Reva in mind as he wrote the songs attributed to her part at her approval. Reva would successfully participate in the Broadway Run, a few years later in the National tour and from there she would be invited for a later London Run of the production. As the show kept moving forward Reva Rice confidently says the lead role was more and more fine-tuned to fit her particular personality.

As the show experienced phenomenal success, Reva was propelled to the top of the theater world in an instant and would easily be remembered at the heart of the role she helped originate. But her singing would be honed by her time with the famous musical and by the time she landed a role as the original Velma Kelley in the hit first production of Chicago.

As the years moved on, Reva would find herself front and center for the brand new musical being put together by Oprah Winfrey, “The Color Purple”. In this show, Reva’s outstanding voice would be showcased in not only one, but two separate parts thanks to the singing that helped put Starlight Express on the forefront of everybody’s thoughts! While she would tour nationally with the show it would give her a chance to work with singing sensation Fantasia, winner of the 2004 American Idol contest!

While touring with the show though, Reva would receive a call from one of her good friends of nearly 16 years, Tiger Martina. Tiger would offer Reva a chance to star in one of the most humble and emotionally driven musicals in Sin City, VEGAS! the Show! Saying yes, Reva would see herself back off to Las Vegas to do just what she does best in the town that loves her most!
