Everyone enjoys playing a game where they can drive the coolest, fastest cars and compete against the best drivers in the world. Being able to drive a Ferrari, a Porsche or a Corvette, performing all sorts of cool stunts, without having to worry about safety or damaging such an expensive car, which is what you would have to think about if you did it in real life, is very exciting and it gives you a great adrenaline rush. With today's technology, we are able to enjoy some great graphics and special effects, but there are a lot of good games that were made 10-15 years ago, as well.

Crazy Taxi (1999)

This is not a classic racing game, in the sense that you are competing against other drivers. But, you still have to race against time, which is also a lot of fun. You have to complete various missions, such as picking up customers, performing stunts, overcoming obstacles, getting a certain number of points for each mission you complete.

Midnight Club (2000)

This game was developed by Rockstar Games, which also created the extremely popular Midtown Madness. It's an open-world street-racing video game, which is set in Manhattan, and was originally designed to be played on a PlayStation 2. You can drive some of the best luxury cars, as well as tuners, muscle cars, and motorcycles. You can also customize your car by adding personalized license plates, and by modifying the interior, adding aftermarket steering wheels, gearboxes, racing seats, and so on.

Colin McRae Rally (2000)

Colin McRae Rally is definitely one of the most popular video games ever made. It doesn't owe its popularity to the fact there are not too many good rally games that it has to compete against, but the fact that it has some pretty good sound and visual effects, and the fact that it was named after perhaps the best rally driver in the history of this sport.

Burnout 3: Takedown (2004)

This is a famous XBox racing game. It's basically a game where you can do pretty much anything you want to with the car you're driving. There are various playing modes, including one where you are supposed to drive the wrong way, trying to avoid oncoming vehicles, and a “Rage Mode”, where you have to try and take down as many cars as you can. You get points and medals after you get a certain score, and these points can be used to unlock better vehicles and tracks.
