The Superman character has been a very popular superhero for many years. The Smallville TV show centers on Clark Kent and many other characters associated with him during the years before he becomes Superman.

The Superman character has been a very popular superhero for many years.  Superman first appeared in a comic book but he has been featured prominently in many other books,The Popular Smallville TV Show Articles movies, and TV series.  The Smallville TV show centers on Clark Kent and many other characters associated with him during the years before he becomes Superman.

The series first aired in 2001 on the newly created WB network.  It is currently in its tenth and final season and is aired on the CW network.

The Smallville TV show follows the life and adventures of Clark Kent who lives in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas.  During the first four seasons, the series focuses on Clark and his high school friends.

Since that time the TV show has moved into more adult oriented themes including Clark’s career at the Daily Planet along with the impact to him from a variety of other superheroes and villains.

The concept for the TV show came about after another show which featured a young Bruce Wayne before he became Batman failed to garner much support.  It was much better received by focusing on a younger Clark Kent during his years prior to him developing into the Superman character.

The original pilot for the Smallville tv show broke the record for the highest rated debut on the WB network of 8.4 million viewers.  It averages almost 4.5 million viewers per episode over its nine season run.

The actor Tom Welling stars in the role of Clark Kent who is a young man with superhuman abilities.  Clark uses these abilities to help people who are in danger.  Tom has been well received by critics and fans alike and brings a great deal of focus and stability to the show.

Kristen Kreuk plays the character of Lana Lang.  She is the girl next door type and feels empathy for virtually everyone she meets.  Kristen Creuk left the series after the seventh season but she returned for five episodes in season eight as a guest star.

The villain Lex Luthor is played by Michael Rosenbaum.  After Clark saves his life, the two become fast friends.  However as the series evolves, they grow apart and eventually become enemies.  Michael Rosenbaum was considered to be ideal for this role.  He played a pivotal part of the show but left after the seventh season.  However it was recently announced that he would return for the final episode of the series.
