In case you did not know, wooden blocks are among top toys. The games that people play are expelled or isolated are particularly brutal, because they punish those who have less experience or skill, fueling feelings of rejection and distrust. Worse yet, the elimination remove the opportunity to have more experience and improve skills. Truly cooperative games eliminate the exclusion and completely reject the idea of dividing the players as winners and losers.

Provide choices (even small) children to show respect for them and they will confirm the belief that they can be autonomous. When you treat children as responsible human beings, rather than as objects, they begin to behave in a responsible manner.
Ask your children how they think they can play a game like with wooden blocks, what could be more fun or how they can ensure that no one is expelled or feel bad. Where there is a particular problem, ask them how they solved. Almost always have ideas humanizing.
When children are given freedom to provide ideas, make decisions and choose for them, motivation is greatly enhanced. This makes them feel important, gives them a sense of personal control, solves many problems and helps them learn to make decisions on their own.
The initial choices may be within realistic limits, deciding to make a letter or number using their bodies, select a few cooperative games to play or choose a fun activity to end the play session (for children). From this modest beginning their participation may grow to a level where they have full control over themselves and their games.
I do wish to highlight the importance of listening to the feelings and wishes of children. Anyway the first thing you do is establish a genuine feeling of acceptance and trust for the children / as to express their true wishes in your presence. We spend too much time getting the children settled to our ideas, instead of helping them to express theirs. Once children are familiar with various types of activities and different ways to play with wooden blocks together constructively, are in a better position to choose between options cooperative, competitive and individual.
