Is there anyone who has not heard about Taylor Swift, the young 20 year old country music singer whose megahit composition ‘Our Song’ effortlessly crested the Billboard Charts.

This vocalist from Pennsylvania started jotting down songs when she was only 10. Having being greatly influenced by country stars like Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain, Patsy Cline as well as the Dixie Chicks, she, made it to Nashville at the age of 11, hoping to sign a record deal based on the demo she’d taped of her vocal abilities. Unfortunately, it only resulted in rejection.

Taylor didn’t give in. Shortly after she returned she received media favor for her performance of the national anthem, rendered at the US Open tournament. She started playing the 12-string guitar by the age of 12 and kept driving down to Nashville, teaming up with locally known lyricists and creating songs.  By age 14 her parents  decided to relocate to a outlying area in Nashville where Swift was offered a deal with RCA Record at the tender age of 15, but opted against going with them.

Shortly afterwards, she impressed Scott Borchetta who’d recently started a new label – Big Machines Records. She put out her premier single called “Tim McGraw” in the year 2006. It climbed to No 6 on the Billboard Country Chart. She released her first album, titled ‘Taylor Swift,’ a couple of months later. The album was a great hit. In the span of 2 years that album has already sold over 3 million copies while downloads have numbered 7.5 million singles.

Her next album, Fearless, was released approximately 2 years later in November, 2008. It went straight to the top of the Billboard 200 Album Chart and rewrote history on numerous other counts. The whopping success prompted Taylor to undertake her first tour titled after Fearless. The Fearless Tour 2009 got rolling on the 23rd of April, 2009 in Evansville, Indiana. It stretched over 6 months spanning 50 cities around the world with all shows achieving sold-out status in no time, making it the most attended and discussed tours in 2009.
